Refried Beans

   Cook bacon in large skillet on medium heat until crisp.

   Add garlic; cook and stir 1 min.

   Add beans, 1 cup at a time, mashing beans well after each addition.

   Reduce heat to medium-low; cook until bean mixture is consistency of a thick paste.

   (If bean mixture is too dry, gradually stir in reserved bean broth until mixture is of desired consistency.)

   Discard any remaining bean broth.

   Sprinkle with the cheese.
