Red Devil'S Food Cake

   Sift flour once; measure.

   Add soda and salt and sift together three times.

   Cream butter and sugar.

   Cream well and add egg. Beat well and add chocolate.

   Add flour alternately with milk a small amount at a time.

   Add vanilla; bake in greased pan, 8 x 8 x 2-inches, in moderate oven (325u00b0) for 1 hour or until done.

   Cake may be baked in two 8-inch layer pans in moderate oven (350u00b0) for 30 minutes.
