Red Cabbage – a delicious recipe with red cabbage, yellow onion, leafs, vinegar, sugar, salt. Easy to follow and perfect for any occasion.

cut the red cabbage into 4 quarters and remove the core. Then slice into thin strips.

Mix the cider vinegar, sugar and salt together in a bowl until all the sugar has disolved.

Stud the onion with the cloves. You should make at least two complete rings around the onion with the cloves. Use more or less if needed.

Add the bacon fat or oil to a large pot under medium heat. When the fat is hot, add the cabbage and toss.

Cover the pot and toss every 5 minutes until the cabbage has wilted.

add the onion, bayleaf, and vinegar mixture. Reduce heat to low and cover.

Left cook for 60 minutes tossing occasionally.

Remove onion and bayleaf when serving.
