Portuguese Orange Cake with syrup

   Preheat oven to 180 C

   line a bunt cake pan with margarine and flour

   in a medium size bowl, beat the egg yolks with 200 grams of sugar.

   Beat it until fluffy

   add the margarine, the orange juice, and grated peel of one of the oranges

   beat with electric mixer, stir the baking powder into the flour, and than add it to the mixture

   in another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy.

   add the rest of the 50 grams of sugar and beat until forms high peaks

   gently fold the egg white mix into the yolk mixture

    place in oven for 45 minutes or if tooth pick comes out clean

    while cake is baking, prepare syrup by caramalizing the sugar with the orange juice to a boil

    when cake is ready, remove it from the pan and poke some holes around it with a fork while the cake is still hot.

    Than pour the syrup on top

    optional: can sprinkle grated orange peel on the top
