Pecan Pie Surprise Bar

   Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix.

   Combine remaining cake mix with butter and one of the eggs.

   Mix until crumbly.

   Press crumb mixture into a well-greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

   Bake in a 350u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown.

   Combine the reserved cake mix with remaining eggs, brown sugar, syrup and vanilla.

   Beat at medium speed 1 or 2 minutes.

   Pour over crust. Sprinkle with pecans.

   Return to oven and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until filling is set.

    Cool and cut in bars.
