Preheat oven to 375F.

Sift together your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and baking soda), then set bowl aside.

Cream together your butter, brown sugar, 3/4 cups white sugar, and peanut butter. Then add your vanilla and eggs. Cream until mixed will but do not over mix. Combine with your dry mixture.

Form your dough into walnut-sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on your un-greased cookie sheets. Take the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and sprinkle sugar on top of your cookie dough balls.

Take a fork and criss cross the tops of the cookie dough balls.

Bake 12-15 minutes in your preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the pans to wire cooling racks.
