In heavy 5-quart saucepan with lid (tight-fitting), combine sugar, syrup and water. Cover pot; bring to boil over high heat about 5 minutes.

Reduce heat to medium and boil until temperature reaches 230u00b0.

Add peanuts; stir well with wooden spoon until mixture reaches 300u00b0 between 13 and 18 minutes.
