Onion Soup – a delicious recipe with onions, oil, water, Washington broth, salt, white wine. Easy to follow and perfect for any occasion.

Servings: persons

2 lb. onions, sliced
2 Tbsp. oil
8 c. water
3 envelopes G. Washington broth
soup bones
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. white wine
Italian or French bread, sliced thin
grated Parmesan cheese
Swiss Gruyere cheese

Slice onion.

Saute with oil until cooked and light brown. Add water, broth powder and soup bones.

After cooking a while, add salt to suit your taste.

Add white wine.

Simmer very slowly 2 to 3 hours.

Butter slices of bread and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Place slices on cookie sheet and bake to delicate brown. Put slice of bread in each bowl and pour soup over.

Top with grated Swiss Gruyere cheese.
