In large sauce pot,add onions,garlic and mushrooms with just enough olive oil to coat,saute until tender & light brown.About 15 min.

Add tomatoes, basil, Oregano & sugar,mix thourghly while bringing to a boil.Ad salt & pepper to taste,reduce to low and simmer.2 1/2 - 3 hrs. Stirring occasionlly.

Mix Beef & Breadcrumbs & roll into balls (size to your likeing)Season if like and fry until just under done.Set aside, add to sauce for last 1/2 hr to cook in sauce flavor

In lrg pot with water and a splash of olive Oil cook pasta to desired tenderness.

Strain,don't rinse, add butter and toss til coated.Sprinkle with salt & pepper to taste. Pile pasta on plate and laddle on sauce w/meatballs.
