Oatmeal Crispies Cookies

   Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift dry ingredients (salt, flour and soda) together in another bowl and add this to the creamed mixture. Add oats and mix well.

   On wax paper, shape the dough into the shape of a roll and then roll the dough up in the wax paper. Chill thoroughly.

   Slice the roll into cookies that are 1/4 inch thick and bake on an un-greased cookie sheet in a 350 degree F oven for 10 minutes.
