Oatmeal Chewies

   Combine oats and sugar with the oil.

   Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour.

   Add egg, salt, vanilla and coconut and combine well.

   The dough will have a crumbled appearance.

   Place level tablespoons of the dough on greased cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven (325u00b0) for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
