Ingredients: 3 c. flour; 1 c. oatmeal; 1 Tbsp. sugar; 1 Tbsp. caraway seed; 1 tsp. salt; 3/4 tsp. baking soda; 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar; 1 1/4 c. buttermilk (more as needed); 1 c. raisins; 1 Tbsp. melted butter

Combine all ingredients but buttermilk.

Mix well.

Slowly stir in buttermilk until all dry ingredients are moistened.

Knead on floured board until smooth. Shape into a ball.

Place on well-greased cookie sheet.

Flatten into a 7-inch circle.

Make a cross with sharp knife 1/4-inch deep on top.

Bake at 350u00b0 for 45 minutes or until light brown on top.

Pour melted butter on top after baking.
