1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. sugar

Cream together shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together.

Mix with molasses mixture. Drop by teaspoon into the 1/4 cup sugar.

Form into balls.

Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Balls will flatten and crinkle.
