Preheat the oven to 350u00b0F. Place the ground beef, onion, egg yolk, breadcrumbs and ketchup into a bowl and mix to combine. Shape into 12 patties the same size as the buns.

Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 2 mins each side, or until browned.

Top each patty with a cheese round and bake for 3 mins, or until the cheese has melted and the patties are cooked through. Preheat the grill.

Meanwhile, toast the cut sides of the rolls and place a lettuce leaf on the bottom halves. Top with a meat patty, drizzle with barbecue sauce and finish with the top halves of the rolls.
