Matcha-Anko (Sweet Bean Paste with Matcha)

   Put all the ingredients except for the tea in a small non-stick pan.

   (Add the matcha by sifting with a tea strainer.)

   Mix briskly and leave for a few minutes.

   Set the heat to medium, and simmer while mixing with a wooden spatula.

   Cook the mixture until it forms a paste that's the consistency you want.

   Turn the heat off and add salt to finish.

   Use this paste to make these Japanese confectionary.

   For Girl's Day, serve filled with sakura blossom paste.
