Marys Amazing Gingerbread Cookies

   Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a saucepan, Heat the molasses to the boiling point (med heat), then add the sugar, butter, and milk. Stir until melted. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Add the liquid mixture and blend well. Add a few tablespoons of water (start with 2 at a time), enough so that the dough holds together and handles easily. Roll or pat out the dough about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into gingerbread men. Bake 5-7 minutes. When cool, frost and decorate with candies, raisins, or bits of citron.

   Beat until the frosting is thick enough to spread.
