1
Form your ground chuck into a nice ball while you caramelize your onions using your preferred method.
-
2
Set the ball of meat asidewell smash it when we are ready to make the burgers.
-
3
Season the top of the ball with a generous pinch of that salt.
-
4
Bring up the heat on a cast iron skillet to a medium high heat.
-
5
Add the burger into the middle, and let the ball cook for a few minutes, until it starts to brown and caramelize.
-
6
With a large spatula smash the burger down, completely flattening it.
-
7
Let it cook another minute, then flip it over.
-
8
You should have an awesome, caramelized burger.
-
9
Season with a bit more salt, then add the caramelized onions to the top, and cover the onions with the mac and cheese.
-
10
After a couple of minutes, flip the burger, allowing the mac and cheese to warm through, and get a nice crisp on the noodles.
-
11
Remove the burger from the skillet and place onto your sliced bun.
-
12
Get ready to dig in.
-
13
This burger is pretty darn amazing.
-
14
It is everything you expect in a great cheeseburger but with a great texture from the mac and cheese.
-
15
If you happen to have any leftover mac and cheese, try adding it to the top of your next burger.
-
16
Let me know what you think of this creation, the mac and cheese burger.
