-1 large can whole tomatoes
-1/2 cup pitted dates chopped
-3 tbsp. butter
-2 tbsp. olive oil
-1 small can tomato paste
-1 lemon cut into strips with rind
-1 tsp. salt
-1 tsp. french ground pepper
-pinch of saffron threads
-1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
-1 1/2 tsp ground ginger

-in large frying pan melt butter and oil over low heat
