1/2 cups Shortening
1-1/2 cup Sugar
3 whole Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
3 cups Flour
2/3 cups Cocoa Powder
1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Ground Cloves
1 teaspoon Allspice
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
1/2 cups Milk, Approximately
1/2 cups Chocolate Chips
1/2 cups Chopped Walnuts
1/2 cups Raisins

Cream shortening and sugar in a large bowl, then add eggs and vanilla.

Stir together dry ingredients in a separate bowl: flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder, salt and spices.

Mix dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk until it's a nice thick cookie batter consistency. Stir in the chocolate chips, walnuts and raisins. Ultimately, I end up sticking my hands in the dough to finish the mixing.

Roll into balls and then flatten them on cookie sheets. Bake in a 350F oven for 10 minutes. Cool completely. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

If you wish to glaze these, you can use a simple powdered sugar and milk glaze.
