1
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, lamb, Italian sausage, and Parmesan cheese and use your (clean) hands to thoroughly mix together.
-
2
Now, add all of the seasonings: Italian seasoning, dried basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce.
-
3
Using your hands again, mix the seasonings into the meat.
-
4
Once the meat is prepared, take 4-6 ounce sized scoops of meat, mold into patties and set aside.
-
5
You should have 8 patties.
-
6
Heat a grill pan and brush with olive oil on medium heat.
-
7
Place the patties onto the pan.
-
8
Allow them to sizzle and cook on each side for 3-5 minutes.
-
9
Meanwhile, pour the marinara into a small saucepan and heat it on low heat.
-
10
Toast the Texas toast by placing it inside a medium skillet on low to medium heat toasting on each side for 2-3 minutes.
-
11
Once toasted remove from skillet.
-
12
Once the burgers are flipped onto the second side and are just about done, place a single slice of fresh mozzarella cheese on top of the burgers and cover the skillet with a large plate or another skillet of the same size creating a dome.
-
13
Keep covered for about 2-3 minutes until cheese has melted.
-
14
Remove burgers from skillet and place one on top of half of the slices of Texas Toast.
-
15
Pour some of the marinara sauce on top of the burgers, and finally place the other piece of Texas Toast on top and serve.
