5 eggs, separated
1 stick oleo

1 c. pecans
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sifted flour

Combine soda and buttermilk and let stand for a few minutes. Beat egg whites until stiff.

Cream the sugar, oleo and shortening. Add egg yolks, one at a time.
