1 Tbsp. oil or butter
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. sugar
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (I use the diced tomatoes in tomato juice)

Drain hominy and set aside.

Saute onion and green pepper in oil.

Add ground beef and cook until lightly browned.

Drain excess fat from pan.

Add salt, pepper, chili powder, sugar and tomatoes.

Stir and allow to simmer 10 minutes.

Add hominy. Simmer 30 minutes.
