Set oven to 180u00b0C (355u00b0F) and lightly grease a muffin pan or line the pan with paper cases.

Peel and chop the apple up into very small cubes then chop the dates up into small pieces. Place in a large mixing bowl with vanilla, bicarbonate of soda and hot water. Stir and set aside.

In another bowl, mash bananas. Stir in olive oil and honey. Lightly beat eggs and stir into the banana mixture.

Stir cocoa into the banana mixture with a metal spoon and then add the apple mixture a little at a time, alternating with the flour. Mix in.

Spoon the mixture into the muffin pan or paper cases and bake for about 25 minutes until a tester stick comes out clean. Allow to cool on a cooling rack before serving. Eating them hot out the oven is also allowed!
