Hamburger Squares Appetizer

   Preheat over to 350

   Dice onion pretty fine (good luck with this step, I know you're a whiz with dicing, watch those fingers!!!!) then sautee the onion in 1 tblspn of butter in a large skillet until they get nice and carmelized.

   Remove onion from pan and add both meats to same pan. Brown meats together until fully cooked, remove and drain meat mixture of grease then return it to pan.

   On medium heat cube velvetta and add the chunks to the mixture until it all melts together with the meat. Add in your grilled carmelized onion, mix thoroughly. Salt/pepper to taste.

   Layout your cocktail rye breads on your cookie sheet then spoon enough of the meat mixture onto each one to cover it completely. It's kinda sticky so you sometimes have to use your fingers to get it off the spoon and spread on the bread.

   After topping each one, put sheet in the oven for about 10min, check the bottom of one, the bottoms should get toasty brown but not to toasty.

   I like to serve with a pickle slice on top. They are also great with a little yellow mustard on top.
