2. Preheat a grill or grill pan to high. When the grill is ready, add the steak and cook it, flipping once, until grill marks appear and the steak is medium rare. This will take 4 to 6 minutes for thinner pieces and 6 to 8 minutes for thicker ones. Let the steak rest 10 minutes.
