Gretchen's Swedish Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

   Preheat oven to 400F.

   Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

   Add egg and beat slightly to combine.

   In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cocoa.

   Add to batter gradually.

   Then stir in the oatmeal.

   Roll cookie dough into balls and then place on baking sheet.

   Using a buttered glass dipped into decorative sugars, press lightly to spread into more of a cookie shape.
