Preheat oven to 275F.

You can use whatever ingredients you have on hand or want to use.
-
3
Tailor it to your own preferences!
-
4
Liquid sugars can be: honey, maple syrup, molasses, corn syrup.
-
5
Dry sugars can be: brown sugar, cane sugar, malted barley flour (aka Dry Malt Extract).
-
6
Nuts can be slivered almonds, chopped walnuts, sunflower seeds, etc.
-
7
Fruits can be raisins, craisins, or other dried fruit.
-
8
Quantities are totals.
-
9
Use a variety to make up that total.
-
10
For example, I usually use 1 cup of walnuts, 1/2 cup of slivered almonds, and 1/2 cup of sunflower seeds to achieve the 2 cups of nuts.
-
11
I use honey and maple syrup to make up the liquid sugars, etc --.
-
12
In a large bowl add 1/2 cup of water to the dry sugars, mix, and heat in the microwave until dissolved.
-
13
When dissolved, add the liquid sugars and mix just to combine.
-
14
Add the oats, nuts, and seeds to the bowl.
-
15
Mix thoroughly (I prefer using my hands).
-
16
Spread onto two parchment lined baking sheets.
-
17
Bake for 30-35 minutes, swap and rotate sheets, and bake for 30-35 more minutes.
-
18
(Total time will depend on your oven.
-
19
Mine's gas and I've tried 60 to 80 minutes and find 70 is a good balance.
-
20
Electric may be less).
-
21
Allow to cool, break up into desired chunks and mix with the fruit and candy (I like mini dark chocolate chips).
-
22
Keep as you like.
-
23
I put this into 5-6 large ziptop bags and store in the fridge.
-
24
Each Monday, I bring a bag to work for the week.
