Combine oil, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice in a medium bowl.

Sprinkle garlic salt and cracked black pepper over ribs.

Place ribs, meaty side up, on cooking grill.

Grill, covered, directly over slow coals.

Grill for 1-1/2 hours or until tender, turning and brushing with basting sauce every 15 minutes.

Vent holes should remain open during entire grilling time.

Add coals as needed every 45 minutes to 1 hour to maintain grilling temperature.

Brush with desired barbecue sauce and grill 10 minutes more, turning and brushing with with barbecue sauce after 5 miutes.

To serve, slice between ribs.

Note: The coals should be 10 to 12 inches from the grill.

If grill is too shallow to allow for this, arrange preheated coals in a circle or on sides, leaving a hole in the center.

Test for medium-slow heat over the center.

Place ribs in center of cooking grill.

Ten minutes before serving, spread coals in a single layer.
