2 c. oatmeal
1 c. raisins
black walnuts (optional)

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.

Add milk, soda, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

Cook raisins in a little water until tender.

Mix flour and oatmeal, then add to shortening mixture.
