1/4 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinammon
1 tbsp ground ginger
1/4 c maple syrup
1 egg, beaten
as much jam as you wish

2. Cream shortening, only 1 cup sugar, and butter.

3. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinammon, and ginger.

7. Measure 2 tsp of dough and make balls. Roll in remainig sugar. Flatten dough a bit.
