Name: German chocolate cake

Ingredients: 4 oz German sweet chocolate; 1/2 cup water, boiling; 1 cup butter; 4 egg yolks; 12 oz cake flour; 1 tsp baking soda; 1/2 tsp salt; 1 cup buttermilk; 4 egg whites, beaten stiff; 3 egg yolks; 1 cup evaporated milk; 1 cup sugar; 1 1/2 cup coconut flakes; 1 cup pecans, chopped; 1 tsp vanilla

Melt chocolate in boiling water,set aside.

Cream butter and sugar, add yolks and beat well.

Blend in vanilla and chocolate.

Sift flour, salt and soda.

Add to butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk.

Fold in beaten egg whites.

Bake in 3 floured pans @350 for 35-40 minutes.

Cream butter and sugar, add yolks and milk.

Cook over medium heat about 12 min.
