Garlicky Green Beans

   1. Fry garlic and beans in butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

   2. Add 1 cup of stock to pan and simmer, stirring occasionally, until liquid is evaporated and beans and tender-crisp, about 10 minutes. If beans are still too crisp, add additional stock and simmer. Turn the heat to high to evaporate the liquid quickly if beans are getting too soft.

   3. Stir the beans around the pan to coat in the remaining sauce and serve.

   Note: this recipe can be made ahead of time and heated just before serving. It works well and I often do that if I'm having company and want one less thing to prepare while the guests are here.
