Friendship Cookies

   Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs and milk.

   Sift cream of tartar, soda and flour (enough flour to roll stiff). Roll out dough and cut into circles, put on ungreased cookie sheet. Filling:

   1-1/2 c. chopped raisins, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. water, 1 c. chopped walnuts, 1 tsp. flour, juice and rind of one

   lemon. Cook filling until thick.

   Cool filling, press cookie with tablespoon and then put filling on each cookie that has been rolled out. Bake at 350u00b0 for 8-10 minutes.
