Preheat the oven to 350u00b0F. Beat the butter, vanilla extract and brown sugar until creamy. Add in the eggs, one at a time. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and crushed Amaretti cookies. Add the flour mixture to the batter alternating with the milk. Pour the batter evenly into greased and floured heart shaped cake molds. Bake for about 20 minutes. Take out of the oven, remove the cakes from their molds and allow to cool.

To make the icing, mix together the mascarpone (or whipped cream cheese, if using), cream cheese, sugar and liqueur until creamy. Cut the heart cakes in half horizontally then carefully spread the icing onto the bottom halves. Place the tops on and dust with powdered sugar. Decorate with the raspberries and sugar hearts and serve.
