Festive Onions

   Melt butter in a large saucepan.

   Stir in onions.

   Cook, covered on medium low heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender and golden, stirring constantly.

   Divide onions evenly among 6 (6 ounce) individual casserole or custard cups.

   Beat eggs until light.

   Stir in half and half, salt and pepper.

   Pour atop onions or place in 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish and pour mixture atop.

   Bake in 350u00b0 oven for 15 minutes or until mixture is set (allow 15 to 20 minutes for onions in baking dish).

   Sprinkle with cheese last 5 minutes of baking.
