Fennel Bake

   Heat the oven to 170C/fan 150C/gas 3. Layer the slices of fennel, some seasoning and some mashed feta cheese crumbs in a small ovenproof dish. Keep going until you end with a layer of sliced fennel at the top. Press down firmly. Add 2-3 tbsp milk to dampen the dish, not drown it.

   Cook until the fennel is tender and beautifully brown on top, and the cheese has melted into curds.
