Farmhouse Recipe: German Potatoes

   Slice the peeled potatoes about 7 mm thick (optionally cut them in half first), and boil until they are still a bit hard.

   Cut the bacon into 1 cm pieces.

   Heat the butter or margarine in a frying pan and stir fry the bacon over low-medium heat, until it's crispy.

   When the bacon is crispy, add the boiled potatoes and fry on both sides until browned.

   When the bacon fat has been absorbed by the potatoes, season with coarsely ground black pepper and salt, and it's done.

   It's tastier with plenty of black pepper.
