1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
4 c. baby oatmeal (Gerbers, Heinz or Beechnut, dry; do not pack in cup)
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.

Add slightly beaten eggs.

Sift flour, measure, then sift together flour, soda, salt and spices.

Flour raisins with a small amount of the mixture. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add baby oatmeal.

Mix well.

Dough will be stiff.

Add raisins.

Drop by heaping teaspoonful onto greased baking sheets.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown in 400u00b0 oven.

Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
