   ["Dice your butter or margarine, and mix it with the sugar, either by hand or with an appliance.", "Add the flour, vanilla extract, and water.", "Mix until you have a smooth dough.", "Wrap the dough in clingfoil, and refridgerate for 30 minutes.", "Take out your dough and place it on a floured surface.", "Sprinkle some flour on top of the dough and then add some to a rolling pin.", "Roll out your dough so it is roughly 1,5cm/1in thick.", "Cut your cookies into ""bars"" and just make a pattern on them with a fork.", "Do NOT go all the way through the cookie, just press down very lightly with the fork.", "Line a baking tray with some parchment paper or baking paper or the equivalent.", "Put your cookies on the baking tray and sprinkle lightly with caster/granulated/refined sugar.", "Bake in the oven at 190 celsius/350F for roughly 12-18 minutes or golden.", "Take them out from the oven and let them cool on the tray for about 3-4 minutes.", "Transfer to a wire rack and let them cool completely.", "Enjoy!"]
