Rinse and drain the fresh cranberries. Place them in a pot and add the sugar. Stir over medium heat until all the berries bust and the sugar is well combined. The mixture should slightly resemble jam. Let the mixture cool in the pan. Split the sauce between two mason jars and fill the jars with vodka, almost to the very top. Place the jars on the kitchen counter away from the sun. Let the jars sit for 2 weeks. You can shake them every once and awhile, if desired. After two weeks strain the vodka from the cranberries and either pour the vodka into the same jars or something else you may have. (should be a glass container)

To make a drink: fill a glass with ice, add the desired about of vodka, fill the remaining glass with tonic or soda and garnish with a lime.
