   1. Combine sugar and milk in heavy saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring constantly

   2. reduce heat, simmering for 6 minutes without stirring

   3. remove pan from heat

   4. add chocolate and stir to blend

   5. stir in butter and vanilla and stir to blend

   6. chill until mixture begins to thicken.

   7. use stand mixer to beat until thick and creamy
