1/2 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking pwdr
3/4 teaspoon grnd allspice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon grnd cloves
1/2 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 c. minced walnuts
Cider Sauce

Combine raisins and 1 1/2 c. warm water; let stand 15-20 min.

Using electric mixer, thoroughly cream together brown sugar and shortening, about 5 min.

Stir together flour, baking pwdr, allspice, salt, cloves, cinnamon, and baking soda.

Add in dry ingredients to creamed mix alternately with raisin mix, beating after each addition.

Pour mix into greased and floured 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
