1
Put the water in a small bowl.
-
2
Break an egg that you've just taken out of the refrigerator into the bowl.
-
3
(The egg should float on the water.)
-
4
Poke the yolk with a fork or something through the membrane.
-
5
(This is to prevent the yolk from bursting, so don't forget this).
-
6
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
-
7
(If the egg does burst, the wrap prevents it from splattering all over the microwave.
-
8
It's good to prevent splattering since you can burn yourself and cleaning up can turn out to be a hassle!!)
-
9
Microwave at 500 W for 50 seconds and it's done!
-
10
The microwaving time can vary depending on your device as well as the size and temperature of the egg, so observe it carefully the first time.
-
11
If the water remaining in the bowl bothers you, scoop it out with a spoon.
-
12
Variation: Microwave for an additional 10 seconds.
-
13
Remove the excess water, add salt, pepper and mayonnaise, and mix while cutting the egg up with a knife.
-
14
Spread between two slices of bread and you have an egg salad sandwich in no time!
-
15
You can make one without messing up a cutting board.
