grated rind from 1 large lemon
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. sugar
juice from 1 lemon

Cream sugar with margarine.

Add lemon rind.

Beat in eggs. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together; add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

Stir in nuts. Pour in greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

Bake at 325u00b0 for 60 to 90 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Heat sugar in lemon juice, stirring until dissolved.
