Divinity Fudge

   Mix sugar, syrup and water in saucepan.

   Boil until a few drops placed in a cup of cold water forms a soft ball when rolled between the thumb and second finger (235u00b0 on a candy thermometer).

   Then pour half the boiling mixture over the stiffly beaten egg whites and stir.

   Return the remaining half of the mixture to the heat and boil until a few drops placed in a cup of cold water form a hard ball (260u00b0 on a candy thermometer).

   Combine with egg mixture.

   Add nuts and vanilla, working fast.

   Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on a well buttered cookie sheet.
