Disgustingly Rich Brownies

   Preheat oven to 350u00b0, then smear the inside of 8 or 9-inch square baking pan with shortening.

   Melt the butter over a low heat.

   In your bowl, stir the cocoa and sugar together, then stir in the melted butter, add the eggs and vanilla and stir again.

   Now add the flour and salt and mix until smooth (add your nuts if you want).

   Pour mixture into pan and spread evenly.

   Bake 40 to 50 minutes, or until brownies just begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.

   Check with toothpick to see if it is done.

   Cool before cutting into squares.
