Preheat oven to 500F.

For the sauce: Heat 1-1/2 teaspoons of olive oil in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Add the garlic and stir for a few seconds. Add the tomatoes, kosher salt, sugar, and basil. Simmer for 1/2 hour, stirring, and frequently mashing the tomatoes with a fork.

For the 'bones': Generously oil a half-sheet pan with olive oil. Divide the pizza dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each ball into a 6 to 8 inch rope. Place on baking sheet and spritz all over with even more olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Italian seasoning.

Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven, turn the bones over, rotate pan. Bake 4 more minutes.
