Dinner Tonight: Shrimp With Pastis Cream Sauce Recipe

   In a saute pan, heat the butter over medium-high heat until the foam subsides, then add the shrimp and shallots and cook rapidly for 3-5 minutes, toss continually, until the shrimp are pink all over and almost cooked through. Add the pastis and cook for an additional minute.

   Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon, leaving behind as much liquid as possible, and reserve in a warm place. Add the heavy cream, a pinch and salt and pepper (to taste), and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring well.

   Return the shrimp to the pan and cook until just warmed through. Serve with rice.
