   Stir butter into hot applesauce.

   Add sugar and salt.

   Cool. Add lemon juice and rind to eggs slightly beaten.

   Stir into sauce.

   Blend well and pour into pie shell.

   Bake at 450u00b0 for 15 minutes.

   Reduce heat to 275u00b0 and bake for another hour.

   Pie should be golden brown.
