Date Roll Candy

   Combine sugar, cream and salt.

   Cook until mixture reaches soft ball stage.

   Add dates and continue cooking until mixture separates from pan when stirred (about 2 minutes).

   Add pecans, coconut and vanilla.

   Beat until cool.

   Pour on a wet cloth and from into a roll.

   Cut roll in slices when cool.
